Daring Robbery.

[Reuters Telegrams.] Hobart, July 24. The manager of the Branch Bank of Tasmania at Beaconsfield, a town 33 miles N.W. of Launceston, was stuck up last night, and the keys of the bank taken from him. Subsequently the bank was entered, and cash to the amount of £2,500 abstracted. The police are now in pursuit of the robbers. Later. Further particulars are to hand regarding the bank robbery. Beaconsfield, actingmanager, not the manager, Stockhouse, was tied to a tree with his head enveloped in a pillow case. Two men entered the bank, while two others, who were armed, guarded Stockhouse for two hours. He was then released. The watch and money which he had on him were not taken. The cash in the bank at the time of robbery was unusually large, owing to its being pay day at the mines.
