[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS. - ) BANQUET TO THE MARQUIS OF NORMANBY. London, July 10. The Marquis of Normanby was entertained last night at a banquet by the leading AngloAustralians in London. Among the guests were Lord Kimberley, the Marquis of Lome, and Sir Michael Hicks-Beach. In response to the toast of his health, the Marquis of Normanby took occasion to deny that the Victorians were guilty of lavish expenditure of borrowed money. With reference to the recidiviste question, he urged the colonists to await with patience the action of the Imperial Government.
