[Reuter’s Telegrams.] CRICKET.—AUSTRALIANS v. NORTH OF ENGLAND. London, June 20. The cricket match at Manchester, the Australians v. North of England was resumed and concluded to-day, resulting in a defeat of the visitors. The home team, with six wickets down for 187 runs, continued their first innings, and put together a total of 220 runs. J. Briggs, c. 22, was the principal scorer. The Australians being 129 behind their opponents in the first innings then went in for the second time, but their wickets again fell rapidly, and the whole were put out for a total of 107; the Home team thus winning by an innings and 22 runs. The highest scorers were McDonnell, b, 23, and Blackham, c, 32. Peat bowled splendidly for the Home team, taking five wickets for 20 . runs. 1
