Narrow Escape.

[Per Press Association.] Dunedin, June 17. The passengers by the ship Dunedin, which arrived from London on Saturday, inform us that she had rather a narrow escape just before reaching port. The night was foggy and land had not been sighted. When breakers were seen on the weather bow, the order “ about ship ” was immediately given, and the vessel answering the helm, cleared White Island safely. White Island is a small rock off the ocean beach, within view of Dunedin.
