Wellington Woollen Co.
[Per United Press Association.) MEETING OF SHABEHOLDERS. Wellington, June 14. The Report of the Directors of the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Co. to be presented to the meeting of shareholders on the 30th inst., states that Mr. Ramsden, whose services have been secured as manager, has been engaged in preparing full and detailed estimates for the proposed buildings and machinery ; that 1,576 new shares have been taken up since the balance sheet was made up, making the total already placed 11,893; that the directors believed the number of shares already taken up is sufficient to justify the calling for tenders for machinery and building withou t delay; that the Board considers it desirable to reserve a large portion of the unapplied-for shares; that the chairman has only been acting provisionally, and has expressed a wish to retire ; and that the directors have decided to give shareholders an opportunity of selecting a board more directly representative of the general body of investors by resigning in globo, and not offering themselves for re-election.
