WILMOTT’S COMBINATION.

The above appeared again last night at McFarlane’s Hall, in Lankaster’s celebrated comedy in three acts entitled “ TheGuv’nor.” This is a most diflicult piece, nearly the whole of the company taking part in the per. formance. The iilot is something as follows : — Kate and Freddy Butterscotch, daughter and son of the “ The Guv’nor,” have fallen in love with Carrie and Theodore I Macclesfield, whose maternal and paternal relations are a deaf and infirm stately matron. Butterscotch, however, is possessed of a suspicion that his wife is the object of young Macclesfield’s attentions, and from this mistake all sorts of blunders and absurd situations arise. Finally all is put right again, and all the available people are married without delay. Mr. Butterscotch, “TheGuv’nor,” as a proud old gentleman was well represented by Mr. A. Herman. His son Freddy, by Mr. R. W. Reed, was splendid, the stuttering and stammering of the aristocratic young fellow being well mastered. The part of Theodore Macclesfield, by Mr. James Wilkinson, was excellently taken, and kept the audience in roars of laughter all through the evening. The natural performance of this gentleman is unmistakeable, and he deserved the appreciation the audience showed by their mirth, and applause when he appeared. » Gregory, the new groom, and the McToddy, by Mr. Frank Simmonds, and Mr. Max Alexander also deserve great praise, and took their parts most successfully.
