TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—The nominations of vesterday and show of hands were largely in favor of Mr. Bess, the Liberal candidate, and was an unmistakable sign that the majority of the electors of this district are not political turn-coats, and having adhered in the past to the views of the Liberal Party, they, b v their actions of yesterday have proved that they will continue their support in the future to that party who have done so much good throughout the Colony, and now their candidate for this district stands at the head of the list of candidates, with the approval of the electors. Yesterday should be a warning to those who, from personal motives, have supported the Conservative candidate, and ere it is too late let them join that party who are the most likely to relieve the Colony from the financial depression, under which it is now suffering so severely,—l am &c., Liberal. Gisborne, 10th June, 1884.
