[Reuters Telegrams.] CRICKET.—AUSTRALIANS v. YORKSHIRE. London, June 9. The Australian Team commenced a cricket match at Bradford to-day against an eleven of Yorkshire. The wicket was heavy owing to recent rains, and was greatly in favor of the bowlers. The following is the result of the day’s play:—Yorkshire, first innings, 55 ; Australians, GO ; Yorkshire, second innings, 72. The attendance of spectators was only moderate. June 10. The cricket match, Australians v. Yorkshire was concluded to-day at Bradford. . The visitors, requiring 68 runs to win, went in for their 2nd innings, but only obtained that number with the loss of 7 wickets and thus won the match by three wickets. The highest scorers were :—Bannerman, cb 11; Murdoch c 17. The weather was fine, and the attendance good, but the recent rain caused the wicket to be heavy, which greatly favored the bowling. INTERCOLONIAL FOOTBALL. Sydney, June 11. The New Zealand Footballers are now at Bathurst, where they have been hospitably entertained. They play a match to-day against fifteen of the western districts.
