[Reuter’s Telegrams.] GARRISON AT SUAKIM REINFORCED. ESCAPE OF GENERAL GORDON. PREPARATIONS FOR CAMPAIGN SUSPENDED. London, June 6. Telegrams from Souakim, where the garrison has been reinforced by a body of British marines, states that Osman Digna, with a following of 70,000 Arab rebels, is now in the neighborhood, and threatens to make an attack upon the town. Cairo, June 6. A report has reached here to the effect that General Gordon has left Khartoum and escaped southwards up the river Nile on board a steamer. Preparations which were in progress here for the Autumn campaign to the Soudan have now been suspended.
