(reuter’s telegrams.) [Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CRICKET.—AUSTRALIANS v. GENTLEMEN. . , London, May 81. The cricket match Australians v. Gentlemen of England, was resumed and concluded at Lord’s to-day. The Home team having one wicket down for 17, and requiring to make 128 to win the match, put together that number with the loss of only six wickets, thus winning by 4 wickets. The attendance of spectators was very large, the greatest interest being taken in the match. The weather during the day was fine.

FOOTBALL.—NEW ZEALAND V. NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, May 81. The New Zealand Footballers played a match thia afternoon on the Association Cricket ground against a strong team representing New South Wales. The weather was splendid and the ground hard and in excellent condition. The attendance was large, fully 3,000 persons being present. The New Zealanders played splendidly and were vic* torious by two goals and one try to nil. The winners first gaol was obtained by Warbrick, by an excellent kick from the field. The second was secured by W. Milton, from a touch down obtained by Taiaroa, who throughout the afternoon showed magnificent form. A try also was secured by Robertson. Later.—The football match on Saturday between New Zealand and New South Wales was a very hollow affair, the local men being overmatched at all points. The New Zea* landers plaved with great brilliancy, their tackling and passing being perfect.
