Wellington, May 81. No newa of Mr. PiUiet’s resignation of hit setii for Stanmore has yet been received, H it reaches the Speaker before the opening of Parliament, it is most likely that that gentleman will not take any action with regard to it as the session is so close at hand, and that he will leave the House to issue the writ. The writ for the Ashbun,on seat will not be issued until Parliament me-as. Dvxedin, May 31. Mr. Driver intimates that he will not seek re-election for Hokonui.
