[reuter’s telegrams.) THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM. London, May 16. The cricket match, Australians v. Oxford University, was resumed to-day at Oxford, The Home team, with four wickets down for 106, continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 209, or 61 a head of the Australians. O’Brien with 92 and Page with 33 were amongst the top scorers. The Australians then went in for their second innings, and succeeded in putting together 168. McDonnell (stumped 36) and Midwinter (caught 46) were the highest scorers. The fielding of the hoine team was very good. The Oxford team now require to make 108 runs to win the match. Great interest is being taken in the contest.

Later.—The above match resulted in the defeat of the visitors. The Home team put together the number required (108) for the loss of only three wickets, thus winning by seven wickets. Kemp (not out) was highest scorer with 61.

INTERNATIONAL FOOT-BALL.

[Per Association Telegrrms.) Wellington, May 19. P. Webb has been chosen as fifth man from Wellington to go to Sydney. All representatives with the exception of Warbrick, of Auckland, are now here, and a match against a local eighteen will be played on Wednesday, a portion of the proceeds to go towards paying the expenses of the team.
