At Newmarket first Spring meeting to-day the race for the Thousand Guineas Stakes resulted as follows:— Scot-free 1 Stinedard 2 Harvester 3 [Per United Press Association.] QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY RACES. Wanganui, May 2. The following nominations were received last night for the Wanganui Handicap Steeplechase, to be run on the 24th May:— Clarence, Denbigh, Chandler, Grey Monus, Diomedes, Black Doctor, Barbary, The Druid, Billy-go-by’em, Sunray, Mount, Southern Chief, Ngata, Parnell, Fair Play, and Scrutineer. The number of nominations last year was seventeen
