[Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) [Reuter’s Telegrams.) SERIOUS EXPLOSION. London, March 5. An accidental explosion has occurred on boa’d the Aberdeen, bound for Adelaide. The c plain and several of the crew were injured, and the vessel has returned to Giavesend. The pilot has since died, and the captain is in a precarious condition. THE SOUDAN. DETAILS OF THE BATTIE OF EL TEB. PUBTHER ADVANCES AGAINST THE ' REBELS. DISAFFECTION OF THE NUBIAN TROOPS. BEBEL SUCCESS. DISAFFECTION OF NATIVE TROOPS. Details received of the late battle at El Tcb show that the troops under Major-Gere-al Graham comprised 3,000 infantry, 1,000 cavalry, and 200 artillery, and the Naval Brigade, with twenty light guns, advanced in the form of an oblong i.pon the enemy’s forts, containing two Krupp guns, and began the battle. The number -of Arabs was estimated at 10,000. They made repeated charges in detached bodies, and the marvellous bravery of Ulundi was repeated. The
forts were defended with great tenacity, but were finally stormed. The Krupp and Gatling guns created fearful havoc. Finally the Arabs made a stand at El Teb, and slowly retired, after four hours’ fighting, the cavalry pursuing them. The latest reports say that 1,500 rebels were killed. The enthusiasm at Khartoum is subsiding, and the native troops beyond that ridicule General Gordon’s proclamations. A force of two thousand hregulars from Khartoum has marched to meet the advancing rebels.
The Times complains that General Graham directed the retreat from Soualdm. Colonel Stewart returns to the Wnite Nile at the head of a force of 2,000 Bazouks. The Mahdi is reported to be tampering with the Mnssulmen of India, and the Nubian troops in Souakin threaten to join the rebels. Two more garrisons in Southern Soudan have been captured by the rebels. Two regiments of Egyptian troops have been ordered to proceed to Assouam. The fidelity of the native garrison in Cairo ? s distrusted.
