Phases oe the Moon. New moon, 27th, at 6.5 a.m. The Union s.s. Southern Cross left Auckland last night for this port. She will call in at Tuparoa on her way down, and may be expected here early on Wednesday morning. After discharging her passengers and cargo, she will proceed South to Napier and Wellington. The following were the departures per the Tarawera on Sunday morning :—Messrs. Stubbs, Morgan-Morrice, Gale, Hale, and Dr. and Miss Stewart. ..The schooner Orpheus has arrived from Mercury Bay with a cargo of timber. The Rosin a arrived in the bay yesterday morning with several passengers on board.
