The proposed fiscal innovations as announced in the Treasurer’s Budget Statement will be further considered in the Assembly on Wednesday next. New Zealand wheat has advanced 2d. during the week, and is now quoted at 3s. 6d.; New Zealand oats have risen to 35.; maize remains at 4s. per bushel. The Sugar Company’s No. 1 pieces remain at £34 per ton. A cricket-match between the Australian team and a colonial eleven was commenced here yesterday. The weather was fine, and there was a moderate attendance of spectators. The Australians went in first, and were all disposed of for a total of 318. The match was resumed to-day. The following are yesterday’s scores :— Australian Team.—First innings: McDonnell, c GO; Bannerman, b, 1; Murdoch, c, 83 ; Giffen, c, 1 ; Bonnor, b, 62; Midwinter, c, 4G; Scott, 1 b w, 1; Blackham, b, 15; Palmer, not out, 24 ; Boyle, c, 0 ; Cooper, c, 6; extras, 19. Total, 318. Adelaide, Feb. 16. The wheat market is very dull, and little business is doing. To-day’s quotations are 3s. 9d. to 3s. 10d., nominal; flour remains at
about last week’s prices — town brands, £9 10s.; country ditto, £8 15s. The freight market is firm. Freights to London—Steamers, 455, for cereals; ditto, sailing, 40s.
