The Ministers Elections Validating Bill has been read a second time in the Legislative Assembly. A cricket-match commenced here yesterday between the Australian team about to proceed to England and fifteen of New South Wales. The latter went in first, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 275 for the loss of six wickets, of which Moses (not out) made 187. Mr. Francis, formerly Chief Secretary of Victoria, who has been seriously ill for some time past, died to-day, aged 65. He was for many years a prominent Victorian statesman.
