(Per Ta Anau at Bluff,) SPECIALS.) London, December 28. The gunboat Protector, which has been constructed for the South Australian Government by Armstrong and Co., has been successfully launched. The Albert Bill, which provides for the trial of Europeans by Indian Native Magistrates, is the subject of keen discussion in India, and a compromise recently arrived at, by which Europeans can be tried by Native Magistrates, provided that the majority of the jury are Europeans, is viewed with disfavor by the Natives.
