Alfred Buckland’s report at the Haymarket on Friday, December 7th if as follows :—Fodder ranged from 2s 6d to 5s the cwt.; oats, 2s 6d the bushel ; the horse stock yarded were principally suited for riding purposes, and met a steady demand. The young stock bred by Mr Vavasour sold well ranging in price from L 8 10s to L 23. medium draught brought from L 25 to L 33 each. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday best hidls brought 3Jd and 3£d the lb. ; sheep skins, Is 5d each ; tallow, 24s 6d and 20s the cwt. ; small lots of wool from 4gd to 6|d the lb. At Remuera on Thursday, store cattle were numerous, and in good enquiry at fully late values ; fat cattle were in usual supply, and generally of good quality. The sale was a brisk one, drafts of steers averaged 255, and an occasional choice pen reached 30s per 100 lbs. Sheep were in full supply, and lower in price than last week, Is to 2s each, being barely 2|d per lb ; lambs were in short supply, but were also at lower values. Well-bred pigs and porkers brought full values.
