Per Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 7. The second contest (48 hours) between Edwards and Scott for Mr Whites £lOO prize commenced at ten last night. At eleven this morning Scott had u’alked sixty four miles, and Edwards sixty two and three quarter miles. At two p m Scott had covered seventy six miles, and Edwards seventy two and a half miles. Christchurch, Dec. 7. Tasman, Johnny Faulkner, and Envious, have been scratched for the Midsummer Handicap at vhe Canterbury Summer meeting.
