CORRESPONDENCE.
(We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed by oar correspondents), :o: ACT OF IJJUSTICE. TO TH J EDITOR. Sir,—l should like to know why fish should be made of one and flush of another by the Collector of Customs. I am master of the ketcu Lucy James, but not certificated, and by official interierence have been precluded from making anything by the passenger traffic. Now, the owner ot the s.s. Kumuu, Mr H. E. Johnston, is permitted to send his vessel along the Coast under the care of an uncei titicated master, conveying passengers. Last eveuiug she left for the Coast with no less than eight. The Collector some time ago distinctly warned me not to curry pusseugers, why then should another master without a certificate be permitted to do so ? To iny iniud it ij manifestly unfair. —I am etc., Auguste Miller. December sth, 1883.
