Sporting Notes from Hastings.

[By Telegrath.j By Trump Yom. Saturday morning, being the last for which work of any importance would be done, prior to the races that take place to-(Burrow Tuesday, brought a great number of horses to the courae, and those were resolved upon witnessing the nags do their final galloj l had to rise ataneairy hour, A lot of good woik was done by the various teams, and the morning was brought to a close by Kinga k and Tim Whiffler going two miles together, Kingask hvaing the best of it all the way, but I have been informed by some of the knowing ones that George Laing, who rode Tim, wore a /• lead waistcoat under his jacket, thus carrying a lot more weight than Kingask, though, from the appearance of the riders, Kingask carried a stone more than Tim. Through this gallop Kingask was rushed into the betting market the same day, the longest odds obtainable about him being 3 to 1, Kingask and Lomond being the fancy double. The races promise to turn out a great success owing to the fine weather now prevailing, and the good fields that promise to face the starter’s nag for each event I promised in my last to furnish you wit! “ tips ” for the principle events, which I will now do to the best of my judgment. The Guineas being the first event run for my “tips” are—Escopita, 1 ; Marjory, 2. With Jacob or Oberon for third place, Hurdle Race— Loch Lomond first, with Pastime or Wild Dayrell second. Spring Handicap— Tim Whiffler, 1 ; Mischief 2. With Leonata and Kalo in close attendance. For Hack Hurdle Race— I fancy Jack Spratt ought to be the winner. Maiden Plate— Fear Not or Radames. The former for choice. Flying Handicap— Kalo or Carmen ought to furnish the winner. Later. Yankee and Mischief have been scratched for the Spring Handicap, and Heretaunga for the Hurdles.
