“Oliver Twist,” for a penny, a new and t complete edition, is the latest and perhaps the most remarkable of cheap re-prints. ’ Last Thursday evening, the gentlemen who have formed tnemselvcs into an Amateur * Christy Troupe, under the namo of the “ Sable Orphans,” held a preliminary rehearsal. It is evident that the members pussess the right sort, of talent, and that “ Ethiopian Opera Parte ” will not be waited. The following additional bonuses, which have just been gazetted, will be paid on a'’ 4 articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand “ A bonus of L5OO will be given * for the production, by machinery perman- fently established in New Zealand, of the first 10,009 gallons of oil of good marketable quality, from linseed grown in the colony. A bonus of LIOO will be given for the production of the first 50 tons of oil cake of good marketable quality, from linseed grown in the colony, A bonus of 1,500 will be given for the first 25 tons of butter or first .»0 tons of cheese (produced in one factory) which shall be exported and sold in a foreign market at a fair price. A bonus of L3OO will be given for the first 50 tons of Colonial starch shipped to an English market, and for which a satisfactory certificate shall be given, stating it to be of good marketable quality. A bonus of £5OO will be given for the first 50 tons of printing paper made by machinery permanently established and working in the Colony, to be paid to the producer who effects the first buna fide sale of the above amount.
