The Secretary wished to know whose duty it was to collect those accounts. .The Treasurer said it was the wardsman’s. Dr Pollen said the wardsman wis in rather impaired health at present. Mr Matthewson moved that the wardsman may be given the accounts, to collect all he could. The Secretary said he would undertake to collect all the town accounts. Dr Pollen said the wardsman did not carry out his (the doctor’s) orders, and if he did not carry out the orders of the committee properly little good. Tenders. Tenders were to be called for supplies commencing October. Dr Pollen said the Schedules wanted revising badly as much discontent had been expressed last year about the matter. He wished the public to kn •'¥ what articles were wanted and what they were to tender for. It had been the habit ot putting forward a list without specifying the articles which were most wanted. Une firm had complained that their tender had the lowest in the total, but still had not been accepted. He hoped the schedules would be altered to meet this for the sake of the institution. Mr Mabthewson wished to have a general meeting to accept tenders, and not a small committee. it was then agreed that a general special meeting be called on the 26th of September, for the purpose of accepting tenders. A committee was then appointed consisting of Messrs M‘Kay, E. K. Brown, and Mi Matchd’wson, to draw up shedules. The following gentlemen were appointed the Visiting Committee for the month— A. Graham, E. K. Brown, and Mr Jobson.
