Yesterday we visited the establishment of Messrs Matthewson & Co., Wine and Spirit merchants of Lowe street. We found the front sample store abutting on the .above street was but a very insignificant of the establishment. There is large bonded store at the back, with ample oellerage and storage for the choicest and moat delicate wi es and spirits. We inspected Benvolich vv his key, Menkow Brandy, Hennessy’! Brandy, Australian wines of splendid quality, both red and white ; rich, mellow Red Star Rum ; Cozen’* sparkling Sherry, both dry and full; Four diamond Port, of splendid rich and fruity quality ; Clicquot Chantpagne, light sparkling and mellow; and creamy smooth-drinking Schapps of excellent quality, and various brands of clear sparkling clean English Ales, and full bodied Stouts. In all our inspection we failed to find one article which could justify a single fault being found with it, and must compliment M .’ws Matthewson and Co., upon the large variety and superior quality of their stock, and feel assured that their efforts to supply the best article at the lowest possible price wiU be fully appreciated by the public of Gisaorne and that their efforts will be crowned 'with success.
