Matanaka has been backed for all the money in the market (about 4000), and the amount of money laid against others is as follows : —Bundoora, 2000 ; Cheviot, 1000: Mischief, 3000 ; Dauphin, 1000 j Hippodamia, 3000 ; Leos, 1000 ; Emir Bey, 2000 : Leonora, 2000 ; Tim Whiffler, 1000 ; Taiaroa, 3060 ; Hyacinth, 1000 j Kalo, 2000 ; Adamant, 3000; Fame, 3000. As yet the Tasman and Welcome Jack parties have made little move in favour of their representatives.
