« (Fbom our own Cobhzhfondzst.) LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Thursday, Avgust 30. A resolution giving Government Bills precedence and suspending the Standing Orders for the rest of the session, to allow such measures to pass through all stages at one sitting, was carried. The Railway Construction and Land Bill, and Auckland Hospital Reserves Bill, in committee, were read a third time and passed ; also the Corrupt Practices Prevention Bill and the Laud Transfer Act Amendment Bill. The Gold Duties Abolition Bill was thrown out on a division of 18 to 13.
