(From our own Correspondent.) LON DON, August 22. A doctor named Conuuily and his brother were arrested to-day by the police at Limerick, on a charge of conspiracy to murder. The catalogue at to-day’s wool sales comprised 11,700 bales. No improvement in the prices realised was manifested. August 23. Lord Roseberry, who leaves England on August 25th on a visit to Australia, will go by America by overland route, leaving San Francisco on October 20th by mail steamer for Sydney. News has been received here that 100 persons have been killed by a lornada which passed across the American Continent. PARIS, August 22. Intelligence has been received from Tonquin that the French troops have attacked and captured the town of Haighong, and that the Annamite force which was defending the place fled. Latest despatches to hand from Tonquin state that the French troops continue operations against the Annamese and met with further success, and Phunini was captured with a loss of only fifteen killed and fifty wounded, but subsequently it was evacuted. The loss on the enemy’s side has not been ascertained, but is stated to be much larger. BERLIN, August 22. The “ Nord Deutche ” in a leading article to-day, referring to recent attacks on Germany in the French Press, warmly denounces France as the sole disturber of tie peace of Europe.
