FIRE BRIGADE COMMITTEE MEETING.

The above Committee, consisting of His Worship (E. K. Brown), and Councillors Townley, Chrisp, B'Own and Captain Winter, met last night in the County Council Chambers, when the following suggestions were made to he submitted for the approval of the Borough Council : — 1. That a Fire Brigade be formed, of not less than 15 men, with a Superintendent, Deputy-superintendent, Engineer, and Caretaker. 2. That the Superintendent and Deputyengineer be appointed by the Borough Council. 3. That applications be invited from persons who wish to become members of t> e Brigade, such applications to be sent in to the Council, who shall have power to select the number agreed upon. The rules for the guidance of the Brigade were then discussed and decided upon by the Committee.
