LAST NIGHT’S WIRES.
(from our own correspondent.) NAPIER, Wednesday. The schooner Transit was insured for £5OO in South British, cargo insured for between £4OO and £st 0. The wreck realised £69 at auction. A telegram has been received from Mr DeLautour, expressing a wish to be present at any public meeting called at Napier for the purpose of discussing the scope and intention of the Land Company’s Bill. HOKITIKA, Friday. From 11 loads wash from Rosa Unitsd Company lozs Idwtgold has been obtained. The wash is seven feet thick, and larger are almost certain to be found in adjoining claims, WELLINGTON, Friday. Tho Committees report on Company’s Bill a private one. The second reading will be on Tuesday. The Bill is almost sure not to pass. The Government will move an amendment, but in what form ia not yet known. Mr. Dargaville denies having any interest in the Company now, but was an original shareholders. A division is expected to-night on separation or reversion to the Provincialism question. The Government feel bo confident that they do not debate the question.
