Sir, —With reference to a report appearing in the Auckland “ Evening Star ” from tho Wellington correspondent of that paper, to the effect that a criminal information was to be laid against the proprietor of “ Facts ’’for libel on the New Zealand Land Settlement Company, will you please give publicity to an expression of my earnest desire to meet the wishes of tho Company. The sooner they start with their action the bettor. The only drawback is that they dare not appear in the Supremo Court in any matter that I have taxed them with.—l am, &c., Kenneth Kerr, Proprietor of “ Facts.” — - -— [to the editor.] Sir, —The people of Gisborne should be thankful to Messrs Gannon, Allanach and Weston for the exertions those gentlemen made at the meeting of tho County Council on Thursday night towards getting a bridge over the Turanganui river in the township, they fought well and hard for it, and they gained the day in spite of all petty selfishness, although to my mind Air AlcDonald’s telegrams was not so explicit upon the point as it should have been- — I am &c-, Observer, Gisborne, July 13th, 1 's3.
