HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT.

TO THB KDITOB. Sir, — “Subscriber’s” remarks in your last issue, having reference to the , certainly deserve more than passing notfce « from one and all, for the statements re the 1 “farming” of the institution, is so truth* fully correct and glaringly public that it will be a scandal to us all as a community if we allow matters to remain any longer in the same condition. There is not a resident in Gisborne but knows how the management has been kept religiously in the hands of a few, and there are one or two men on the present Committee, who, if possessed of the any feeling of shame would long since hare retired, Is it not also well known that fofr a very considerable period one of the sitting Committee has been an interested person in so far as the Hospital supplies were con* cerned? Yes, directly interested, and yet allowed to sit at the board and have a voice in the management. However, that pecu* liarity is not at all foreign to Gisborne local bodies, But this really ought to be no longer allowed. There are plenty of good med x aud true yet in Gisborne, and we must hope that they will readily come forward and do their best to save our most important public institution from such glaringly scandalous procedures. Where the election is to take place I know not, but really everyone having the faintest scintillation of a vote should be present, and do his best to return some “honest” good men to the Hospital Com* mittee.— Yours, Ac., Axothbb Subscriber.
