HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT.
¥0 TBM XDiToH. Sir, — Our Hospital election takes place shortly, and witnout the public are tho. roughly roused up, it is just possible that many of the present Committee will be re* elected—a dire result which every subscriber should do his best to avert. Y. ur correspon* dent “Subscriber,” has briefly and sensibly put it, and, whoever he is, would make a very eligible member of the new Committee. Why are the Clergymen and Doctor placed on the Committee? This is altogether wrong! They may be members ex but should not be asked to take part in the management. And is Gisborne such a lost city that we cannot muster enough to form an independent Hospital Committee without calling on them ? Surely not. I know one of yodr Southern contemporaries christens | this dear little spot, “The sweet Sodom of ’ the North.” but I fancy that there are plenty well fitted for the office if they will only consent to act. As it seems the fashion for busy printing men to go in for all local offices, why do not some of your people go to the front. At any rate, Sir, will you endeavor with your mighty weapon to rouse up these slumbering Gisbomites, and thereby secure us the chance of getting a Committee / who will do their duty honestly, and not want to have a finger in the pie—l was neatly writing poultice.—Yours truly, Niw Chum.
