HOSPITAL ENTERTAINMENT.

The entertainment given on Thursday night, in aid of the Hospital, by the “ Happy Moments ’’ Company, in the' Academy of Music, proved a suceeps. As amateurs Messrs D’Arcy Stanfield and Dark were most amusing. The latter’s musical sketch, “The Silver Wedding,” was very well received as was also his “ Little Scrub.” The “ Little Hero,” by Mr Stanfield, was much applauded. Though the “ Proverbial Brother ” caused considerable amusement, yet we think Messrs Stanfield and Dark—no doubt acting on pernicious advice — showed bad taste m endeavoring to ridicule an »ld and respected member of the commu nity, and we think that those who have so loudly proclaimed their charity would do well to show it in ways other than monetary: The local talent was well represented by Mr Cohen, who caused mars of laughter by his negro delineation, MrEwbanks, as a violinist, gave much satisfaction, and Mr Edwards’ vocal gifts were fully appreciated. Altogether the entertainment was most pleasing, and proved a great success. We cannot close our report without saying, in all good fellowship to thisyoung Company that though they have not been “ damned with faint praise,” yet the? have been in danger pf this result from the excessive balderdash which has been so lavished upon them by a—well, we will say no more.
