AFFRAY ON THE EAST COAST.
It appears that MrR. Finlay of the Sea View Hotel, Tologa Bay. had placed a number of cases on his verandah as seats for the natives. Amongst these, by some means, there was a full one of stout. This becoming known to the natives they broke open the case, and had a drunken carousal, A quarrel about a a'oman ensued, and one of them in revenge set ffre to his rival’s whare, and then proceeded to Whangara for his gun to shoot him. He fired several times with shot, but happily being out range, hurt no one. The delinquent was apprehended and brought in by Constable Stagpole. He was brought before the R.M. yesterday morning, and remanded until Thursday next.
