THE MARINER’S COMPASS.
The second performance of the above spectacular drama took place in Parnell and Boylan’s Hall on Saturday night. The performance was not so well attended as we could have wished, considering the laudable object for which it was given. Mr Thornton deserves great credit for the manner in which he carried out his part as Silas, as well as for the scenery and mounting of the piece. Mr J. Brodie, as Trafalgar Joe, was excellent, and sustained his part well. Madame Stewart’s ballads were well received—as they always are. Altogether the performance passed off well and smoothly.
