OUR NEW WESLEYAN MINISTER

The newly appointed Wesleyan Minister, the Rev. j. T. Pinfold, is spoken of as follows by the “ Hauraki Tribune ” :—“ In losing Mr Pinfold we shall lose one of the most energetic clergymen we have ever had in this district. Mr Pinfold found a scattered flock and no fold ; he leaves an organised congregation, and the handsomest church in the district. We are quite sure that if earnestness, «eal, and an immense capacity for hard work are of any avail, the Rev. gentleman will be equally a gain to his new aa he will he a loss to his old flock, and we must heartily wish him God speed in his now home.” On Sunday morning and evening Mr Pinfold preached to good congrega. tions in Paeroa, in the evening especially the Church was filled by members of all denominations, who attended to show their respect for him on the eve of his departure. It must have been highly gratifying to Mr Pinfold, and he took occasion to allude to his sojourn in Paeroa, and his experiences here, in a very feeling manner, and prayed tho blessing of God might rest en Paeroa people in general, and bu felt iu every household, He leaves this district having the good wishes of all the inhabitants, who recognised in him an earnest preacher and a warm-hearted friend.”

Wo congratulate the Wesleyan congregation of this district upon having obtained such a worthy gentleman, as by the foregoing it.will be seen, he is being esteemed and looked up to by all members of the community, in which he recently resided. The Revgentleman is expected to arrive in Giaborne to-morrow (Friday) by the B.a. Wairarapa, from Auckland, and will conduct services in the Wesleyan Church on Sunday next, moruing and evening. We can only express a hope that the Rev. gentleman will give satisfaction in the future as he has evidently done in the past.
