CABLEGRAMS.

[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS], LONDON, February 27. The British Government has demanded the extradition from the United States, of Sherridan, alleged negotiator of the Kilmainham “Treaty,” wno has been implicated in the Phcenix Park murder by the evidence of the informer Carey. It is understood he is in New York.

In the House of Commons yesterday, the Marquis of Hartington, in the absence of the Premier, was requested to name the day for the discussion of Sir Stafford Northcote’s proposed motion, for the appointment of a Select Committee to enquire into the circumstances connected with the alleged Kilmainham “Treaty”, which led to the release of Parnell and his associates. Lord Hartington, in reply, refused to fix any date for the discussion of the motion.

Intelligence is to hand from New York that in compliance with the demand of the British Government, a warrant has been issued by the American authorities for the arrest of Sherridan, who is alleged to be implicated in the operations of the Assassins’ Committee in Ireland. A telegram has been received from Cannes stating that Mr Gladstone has left that place on his return to London.

The debate on the Address in Reply was resumed in the House of Commons to-day when Mr Parnell proposed amendment, in which he denounced the tyrannical exercise of power conveyed to the Executive by the Irish Crimes Prevention Act. After a long debate, the amendment was rejected by 132 to 15.
