CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As an old subscriber to your paper and a heavy loser by last year’s fire, allow me to congratulate you upon your short, but pithy, article in last night’s issue, every word of which I approve of. I may also state that if the agents of the different Insurance Companies were to work more amicably together the Brigade would do better. It is a deplorable fact, but the truth, that from the Bench to the merchant they appear, in my opinion, to see what they can do to lower the fine district of Poverty Bay in the eyes of strangers visiting the district. Travel from John o* Groats to Carpentaria, and I am certain you cannot find & more bickering community. —I am, &c., i A. Blair. P.S.—I am sorry to say this, but I cannot help speaking the truth. Toroa, Poverty Bay, Feb. Bth, 1883.
