TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—lt is high time that the attention of the Police was drawn to the fact that a number of young men in this town are in the habit of bathing in the Taruheru river, off the boat shed jetty every evening, in full view of a number of dwelling houses. Some of these “ respectable ” young men appear on the jetty as naked as on the day they were born ; while again, others are satisfied with a thin pair of trunks, Now, Sir, in the name of common decency, thia should not be allowed. There are plenty of quiet places up the Waimata river suitable for a «wim, so that there is no excuse for the indecent exposure these young men are guilty of, The Police certainly should put a stop to this nuisance, —Yours, &c., Decency,
