LONDON SEED TRADE.
Messrs. John Shaw <Sr Sons, of 37 Mark Lane, London, E.C., report through their agent, Mr Leonard Blake, of Christohurch, that the market, during the fortnight ending November 30th, continued active. Alsyke was the article then most in favor, and several lots had changed hands at enhanced rates. Red clover rem lined unchanged. Advices from America state that the receipts off the seed to date, of ernp 18S2, were only 10,333 bags, against 13.000 to that time in 1881. Trefoil was firmly held, the home crop being scanty, and scarcely any foreign offering. White Clover, and foreign Italian rye grass were fully as dear, more money being asked for the latter, which buyers were reluctantly compelled to give. There were numerous enquiries for canary seed, and prices were steadily advancing. Rape seed was meeting with a good demand, and was held for more money. Mustard was firm. Hemp seed quiet, but just a trifle dearer. Linseed dull.
