[reuter’s telegrams], BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—(COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, Jan. 15. Additional tenders for the amount of the £lOO,OOO were received for the Victorian Loan. The list will close on Wednesday next, when any balance unapplied for will be withdrawn. The emigrants from the ship Wild Deer, which was wrecked on North Rock on the 13th inst., arrived at Belfast. They leave there to-night for Glasgow where they will be reshipped to New Zealand by another vessel. Various Colonial A gents-General waited to-day on Earl Kimberley, the late Secretary of State for the Colonies. Sir AlexGait, High Commissioner for Canada, addressing Lord Kimberley on behalf of those present expressed regret at his Lordship's severance from the Colunial office, but hoped that his interest in the Colonies would not be lessened thereby. Earl Kimberley in reply thanked the visitors for their kind expression, and assured them that he would continue to take a warm interest in Colonial affairs. The woman named Caroline Higgins who was found guilty of participation in the Lough Mask Murder, waa hanged to-day at Galway. Arrangements have been made for despatching the Wild Deer’s emigrants by the ship Caroline, which will leave Glasgow at an early date. The name of the prisoner who was hung at Galway to-day should be Thomas Higgins, not Caroline Higgins as previously telegraphed. PARIS, Jan. 15. M. Duclerc, Premier in the Chamber of Deputies, made a statement in reference to Egyptian affairs. He reviewed the whole position at length, and concluded by announcing that as England had decided to act alone in the settlement of the Egyptian question France wonld in future reserve perfect freedom of action in regard to Egypt. CONSTANTINOPLE, Jan. 15. It is reported that a band of Circassians made an attempt upon the life of the Sultan to-day. The guard at the Palace, however, prevented an entrance of the would-be assassins and frustrated the attempt. It is stated that the Circassians fought desperately, and that several lives were lost. The reports have caused considerable excitement here, but they require confirmation.
