MR. THORNTON'S ENTERTAINMENT AT PARNELL AND BOYLAN’S HALL.

There was a very good attendance at the above Hall last evening to witness the repetition of “ Out to Nurse,” and “Aladdin.” In the first part Mr Thornton enacted the part of “Chickweed ” in a style which gave proof of his versatility. As an artist or an actor, a mechanist, or a cultivated gentleman, in the fullest sense of the word Mr Thornton stands unrivalled in his profession He was well supported by Mrs Thornton, Miss May Thornton, Messrs McElwaine, Moy naghan, and Ross, and the piece went very evenly and was at its conclusion loudly applauded. Aladdin was a grand success, Mr M. H. Smith’s Widow Twankey being inimitable. Little May Thornton in the title role, and Miss Grace Quinlan as the Princess, were excellent, as in fact were all the other young people who took part in the performance. Mr Thornton was compelled to appear in answer to a pronounced demand when the cave scene was disclosed. We were glad to hear that in a short time another performance will be given. Mr Thornton really deserves support, as his paintings, in addition to being most attractive to the eve, in a theatrical point of view, will bear close inspection, and the term “ dauber’’ is one which can never be applied to him.
