The s.s. Waipara will leave Hokitika, on Sth Jan., 1883, for Okarito, Jackson’s Bay, and Southern Ports of West Coast of the Middle Island. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Wert Indies via San Francisco, also the Sandwich Islands, on Friday, 29th at 3 p.m. Money orders may be obtained and letters registered until 2 p.m. same day. This mail will be due in London on the 12th February, 1883. TSL On Christmas and New Year’s Day the Post Office will he closed, and the Telegraph Office open only from 9 to 10 a.m. A steamer of the Peninsular and Oriental line leaves Melbourne on 4th Jan. Correspondence specially so addressed and prepaid the Brindisi rates of postage, vis eizhtnence dot hall-ounca. will be.forwarded bv at Sir steven s store, Patutani; also at Mr J Wallace’s, Matawhero. Mails close at Gisborne on Tuesday and Friday, at noon J. Shrimm on, Chief Postmaster.
