[reuter’s telegrams], BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—(COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, Dec. 20. The Right Rev. Ward White Benson, D.D., Bishop of Truro, has been appointed Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of England, vice the late Dr. Tait. The third prisoner charged with the murder of two bailiffs at Lougnmask in February last, has been found guilty. Sentence, however, has been deferred. Consols have recovered the fall of yesterday, and are again quoted at 995. New Zealand Securities remain at yesterday’s quotations. The markets for Colonial breadstuffs and tallow are without quotable change, December 21, Mr Fawcett is now rapidly recovering from his recent illness. PARIS, Dec. 20. Boutoux, president, and Feder, manager of the Union General, which failed in .lan. last, have been sentenced to five years’penal servitude. M. Gambetta is much improved in health and progressing favorably. VIENNA, Dec. 20. Tisza, the Hungarian Prime Minister, made a speech to-day in which he expressed opinion that the rumors now current of European complications are overdrawn, and that peace might be deemed to be assured. CAIRO, December 20. M. Bredif, it has transpired, has resumed the position of French Controller-General of Egyptian Finance which he held previous to the rebellion, and which the Egyptian Ministry recently refused to recognise.
