TRAGIC AFFAIR.
A speculator on the Berlin Bourse, named Davidshon, has been shot by his mistress, a fashionable milliner, who afterwards committed suicide. It seems that the wretched young woman, being informed by her lover that he intended breaking off those delations which he had maintained with her for some years, implored him for a final interview, and after a violent altercation, produced a revolver and fired* two shots, one taking very dangerous, if not deadly effect. The wounded man managed to stagger out and shriek for help, but by the time the police arrived the door was locked. On breaking in, they found the woman had swallowed a dose of oxalic acid, and was stretched on the floor quite dead. Near her was a scrawl recording her desire to be buried by the side of her lover.
