(BY CABLE.—REUTER’S TELEGRAMS). MELBOURNE, Nov. 15. Tho Union Co.’s steamship Arawata sailed this afternoon for the Bluff.
I At the wool sale to-day Messrs Goldsboro ■ and Co., (Limited), catalogued SOOO bales. ! The attendance of buyers was large, and I brisk competition experienced at the recent ! sales fully maintained. The highest prices i realised were loid for greasy, and 23] d for scoured. 4500 bales were sold and 300 withdrawn. Malting barley is in demand, and the prices occasionally arc easier ; the present quotation is 5s 2d. Wheat has fallen 2d din ing the week ; shipping parcels arc now quoted at 5s 4d, and the market is steadier. New Zealand oats are steadier, at about last ! week’s prices ; feeding qualities arc worth 4s Id to 4s 3d ; milling do., 4s 4d to 4s sd. This Day. J. Rosser, the emergency man, takes the place of T. W. Groube, in the eleven to play for Victoria to-morrow against the English Team. Information is to hand that the railway between Suez and Alexandria has been resumed, and that passengers will now be forwarded from Alexandria to Venice. Mr Archibald Forbes leaves for New Zeaand on the 21st inst., by the Manapouri.
