Company’s Te Anau arrived from the South yesterday morning, about 7.30 o'clock, and left for Auckland about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The U.S.S. Co.’s Omapere is expected to arrive from Wellington and Napier to-mor-row morning early, and will leave for Tauranga and Auckland, at 8 a.m. The s.s. Oreti left Napier direct for Auckland, with cattle. The Government steamer Stella, Captain Fairchild, arrived in the harbour yesterday morning, a little after 9 o’clock, from Wellington, with a quantity of Government stores for Gisborne and other places further north. She did not let go her anchor in the Bay, but left for the north immediately after discharging her cargo. One of the lighthouse keepers at Portland Island was a passenger as far as Gisborne. The Government stores consisted of ammunition and a quantity of stores for the harbor. The Stella also brought a capital signal lamp for this harbor. This was a great want, and we are informed that the lamp now provided is really a good one.
