Flour has 10s per ton during the week ; town brands are now worth £l3 5s ; country brands, £l2 5s ; market dull. Freights on wool to London,weak ; greasy, per lb, ; scoured, §d. SYDNEY, Nov. 3. New Zealand wheat declined 4d per bushel during the week, and is now worth 4s 8d ; New Zealand oats remain at 3s 6d ; maize, has fallen to 5s 9d. Sugar Co. ’s No. 1 pieces, per ton, ».3. Government propose to raise the salaries of Judges by four hundred pounds per annum. MELBOURNE, Nov., 3.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s wool sales, which have been suspended on account of the races, were resumed to-day when a fairly representative catalogue, comprising about 1800 bales was presented. The attendance of home and foreign buyers was again large. Biddings were animated, and opening prices fully maintained ; bulk of lots offered sold at very satisfactory prices, high reserves on some larger lots alone preventing a complete clearance. Excellent prices were realised at the previous sales were fully maintained, and opening advance completely established.
