Sheep farmers arc reminded of Messrs. Graham, Pitt and Bennett’s sale of six Lincoln rams at the Government Paddock to-morrow. They are splendid sheep and come from Mr J. May’s well-kuowu farm in the Auckland district. We would again call attention to Messrs. Wm. Ratcliffe and Co.’s sale at Waerenga-a-hika, advertised elsewhere, to be held tomorrow, when sheepkius, draught stock, and oattle, etc., will be submitted for public oompetition. Mr Proctor published an article some time ago entitled “ A Menacing Comet,” in which he suggested the possibility that that comet might be pursuing a rapidly converging orbit, which would ultimately lead it right into the midst of the sun’s fires, in which case he pointed out that the meteor streams which are supposed to follow a comet’s trail, by infringing on the sun’s surface, might produce such an outburst of heat a« to annihilate all life on thi« globe.
